Sinful Colors

Happy Thursday everyone and you know what that means..tomorrow's starts the weekend, YAY!!! :)
So I've been wanting some new nail polish lately and today while me and Ross were out grocery shopping I decided to stop by Target and pick some up. These are the colors I ended up going with. They are all from the Sinful Colors collection and were $1.99 each.

This first one is pretty basic, just "Snow me White". I have a white color in a different brand but I hate it, I can't think at the moment what brand it is but it's one of those $0.97 ones. I used this one tonight when I painted my nails, I will post a picture below. It took me three coats to cover completely but I feel like that's how every white polish I've gotten has been. Maybe I just don't get the right brand or something, does your white polishes do the same thing?

This next one is actually more of a red color in person, it looks more pink in the picture. I haven't used it yet but I thought it was a nice color to transition from winter into spring, if Spring ever comes, ha ha!

This one I absolutely love! This is the other polish I used tonight when I painted my nails. I took my three coats to cover up my actual nail so you couldn't see it underneath but that's how all sparkly glitter polish seems to be. However, unlike other glitter polishes this one gives you a lot of the glitter all over your nail. There aren't like one or two pieces here and there like other polishes I've tried.

I wasn't sure if I would like this one but I wanted to get either a blue or a green color with Spring coming and Ross said he liked this color the best so I went with this one. There was a robin's egg blue color that I will probably go back and get once it gets closer to Spring.

I decided to do all the nails white except my ring finger, which I decided to keep as an accent finger. I used the "Pinky Glitter" polish on my ring finger but after doing so I thought that my hand still needed a little something more. So I decided to put some of the "Pinky Glitter" on my pointer finger on top of the white color and I absolutely LOVED the way it came out. The glitter polish ended up being a softer pink then how it ended up looking on the ring finger, but that's ok, it makes more contrast on the fingers. I actually liked how my pointer finger turned out so much that I want to paint over all my other fingers with the "Pinky Glitter". Ha ha!

Happy Sinfully Glitter Thursday

10 Favorites: Blog Edition

Happy Tuesday followers! I hope you all have had a splendid day today. If you live in the midwest you are probably not loving all the snow we are getting right now, unless you're me and can stay inside all day and just relax :)

So I would like to start doing "favorites" posts, I hope this is something you guys would like to see.  I ill do different things such as makeup, movies, songs, Iphone/Ipod apps, etc., and today I will be doing my favorite blogs to follow. I hope you all will check out these blogs and follow along with them. They have all inspired me in different ways. Whether it be through hair, makeup, or God. These are in no particular order, just my top 10 favorite blogs!

1. The first blog I love following is Kandee Johnson's makeup blog (http://www.kandeej.com/). She is also on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson), feel free to subscribe to her channel ans check out all of her tutorials, reviews, and hauls she has. She has been through many troubles and hardships and is very inspiring for her followers. Please go check out her blog and her YouTube channel and subscribe to keep seeing more of her videos. She's absolutely amazing!

2. My next favorite blog is still on Kandee but it is her personal blog (http://kandeelandkandeeland.blogspot.com/). She has 4 adorable children and she loves to post such fun things like her children's "favorites" videos, cooking tutorials, and just simply adorable things about her life with her children. She has a Youtube channel for her personal life as well, her vlog, (http://www.youtube.com/user/thekandeejohnsonshow). Subscribe to that and let her precious little children brighten your day!

3. The third blog I love following is another lady I found off of YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/emilynoel83). Her name is Emily Eddington and she is another makeup guru (http://www.beautybroadcast.net/.) She use to work as a morning news anchor but her YouTube channel became such a success that it was to much for her to work 2 full time jobs and fit in time to see her husband. She was able to quit her job as a news anchor and is now working full time as a YouTuber. She's so down to earth and is easily relate able to anyone and everyone. She also has a super cute kitty named "Cupcake", love that name for any animal, ha ha!

4. This next one is a blog written by a very special woman whom I know personally. (http://kristinjonfbk.tumblr.com/). She talks about the hardships, struggles, but even the over comings she's had going through life and trying to become more of a godly woman. I love reading her posts because she is so open with her readers. She shows her true self and isn't afraid of letting everyone know that she has been and still is broken, but everyone is. I would love if you would all check out her blog and let her know what an inspiration she is for many.

5. This next blog is written by a group/ministry that recently started up and actually includes the woman that I just talked to you guys about in my number 4 favorite blog to read (http://footstepsforgrace.wordpress.com/). This group is made up of four amazing people, plus God. They post different things that have been laid on their hearts by God and they feel should be told to the world. They also accept prayer requests so if you have anything that you want people to pray for please don't hesitate to send a request to them. You can also follow them on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FootstepsForGrace?fref=ts) or their website (http://footstepsforgrace-com.webs.com/) as another way to stay updated with the different missions they are taking, people they are helping,  prayer requests that are being made, and you can also donate money to them so that they can keep helping all those people.

6. This next blogger is another lady from YouTube, go figure right? Ha Ha! (http://www.makeupbyalli.com/). Her name is Alli and she is another one that inspires me through her makeup. She's no natural that it's just so easy for me to relate to her and to just love watching her videos. She does very natural looking, simple, just plain pretty makeup tutorials that would be easy for any person to do. If you would like to subscribe to her YouTube channel and see all the wonderful things she does with makeup here's the link, (http://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupByAlli/videos?view=0).

7. This next blog I talked about in one of my past posts (http://justacloserwalkwiththeekc.blogspot.com/2013/02/alchemist.html). He is a photographer, but not just any old digital or film photographer, no siree! He invented his own type of camera!! He uses sheets of metal with different chemicals to make the picture stick to the metal. Here's the link to his blog, (http://ianruhter.tumblr.com/). He struggles everyday with making his dreams come true and wants to give up most of the time when things don't turn out the way he had hoped but he pushes through and the finished products are absolutely breathtaking. Here is a link to his website, check it out, read his story, watch his videos, and you can even buy prints of some of his pictures he takes, (http://www.ianruhter.com/). He is also a regular photographer, taking pictures with a normal digital camera, and he actually took the pictures of Kandee Johson (above ^). Not the second picture I posted but the first picture of her blowing the bubbles, which I think is a stunningly beautiful photograph.

8. This next young lady I found on Tumblr, she is from the UK and she is an inspiration to me in a different sort of way then most people would think, we are both in LOVE with the color PINK!! (http://fortheloveof-pink.tumblr.com/). She is obsessed with the color pink, just like me :). She even created her own business through her love of this color, (http://buypink.co.uk/). You can log onto this website and she has links to where you can buy everything pink! From digital cameras and laptops to dog food bowls and cat beds. She will always try to get you the best deal that's out there. So if you love the color pink just as much as her and I please go check out here website and help her continue to pursue her passion!

9. This next one isn't a blog, per say, but it's a website, (http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/), and YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/CuteGirlsHairstyles) that I love to follow. This woman's name is Mindy and she creates so many different cute and fun hairstyles on her daughters. Her passion for hair is so amazing and she is such a creative person that I am envious and jealous every time I log onto YouTube to watch a video of hers, ha ha! She shows you in her videos exactly how to do the hairstyles and even ways that you can alter them to make them your own. Her steps are so easy to follow and I've actually been able to do some of them on my own, which I was so pumped about! Her girls are absolutely adorable and she even has two children that she has adopted, which I think is so wonderful. There are so many children out there that need loved and need a family. They share the story about adopting their son on their website and I hope you will check that out. If you are thinking about adoption as a way you would like to go to have children please read her story and even contact her with your questions because I know she would more then happy to help you out! She also has a gallery on her website of all of the hairdo's she has done, not only on her children but on herself as well. If you click on the picture it will have a blog post type thing about where she got the inspiration from, what tools are required to make this look, and the steps she took to create it.

10. The last blog I will tell you about comes from another YouTube find, (http://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupByTiffanyD), ha ha! Her name is Tiffany and she does makeup and hair and is super sweet and relateable, (http://www.makeupbytiffanyd.blogspot.com/). She just posted a tutorial today on how to get Reese Witherpoon's hair that she had at the Oscars, which was fabulous by the way. If you didn't get to see her hair you should definitely check it out, everyone is saying that she had the best hair that night, by far! Tiffany not only shows us how to get the natural looks but she also shows us more dramatic looks that we can use when we go out at night or just want a more dramatic look for something. She also shows us different ways to paint your nails and she is so creative with what she comes up with!! I thought I was a creative person but after watching this lady I don't think so highly of myself anymore, ha ha!! Please check out her blog and subscribe to her channel, oh and by the way she has the absolute cutest dog ever!! She shows him as a puppy in her earlier videos and now he is grown and is so cute. You can see him in some of her videos "video" bombing in the backgroud, he he! :)

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my top 10 favorite blogs and I encourage you to check all of them out! They are all wonderful and inspirational in their own ways. If you guys have any suggestions on top 10 favorite things that I can blog about please comment below and let me know. I love hearing from you all.

Happy blogging and stay warm out there!

85th Annual Oscars

Hello friends!! I'm up at 1:15 in the morning with heavy eyes writing this post so if there are any errors please forgive me, ha ha.

So as most of you probably know the 85th annual Oscars were tonight, well last night lol, and I thought it was one of the best ones I've seen. Seth McFarlane did an amazing job as the host and I thought this year's theme "music in the movies" was a perfect theme especially because Les Miserables came out this (Oscar) year. Everyone that sang tonight was simply amazing, especially Adele singing "Skyfall," it was beautiful. If you didn't get a chance to watch it I will be posting the winners for each category so if you recorded it and are waiting to watch it you will probably not want to read any further until after you've watched it, but don't forget to come back :)

I actually agree with all of these, except best picture! I think that either Lincoln or Les Miserables should have won best picture but I haven't actually seen Argo so I don't really have any room to talk BUT I definitely think Lincoln and Les Miserables were two very inspirational and moving movies. What do you guys think?

There were also tons of super pretty dresses this year. There are always beautiful dresses every year but I though this year there were a lot more. I will show you some of favorites below. Who do you guys think looked the best?

Jennifer Lawrence

Zoe Saldana

Naomi Watts in this gorgeous sparkling Armani Prive dress

Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck

Catherine Zeta-Jones looked beautiful in this gold and shimmering gown

Melissa McCarthy looking very tasteful in her lovely gown

Sally Fields

Channing Tatum looking handsome as ever with his beautifully glowing wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Octavia Spencer was the first lady to go on stage and I was in awe of how beautiful she looked

Kerry Washington

There were many other beautiful outfits but these were the ones that stood out to me and made me really really jealous, ha ha! I told Ross tonight that I would one day have an Oscar nomination if not have an Oscar! I know that seems very unlikely but you have to go big or go home. Dream big and never let anyone take those dreams away from you.

Let me know what your guys' thoughts were on the Oscars and who you thought looked best dressed!!

Minecraft

Hello friends and fellow gamers! If you didn't know, I do love playing video games, especially Minecraft. If you don't know what this is you should check it out. It's free to play by yourself but if you want to play online and connect with other people on their servers you have to pay a one time payment of $20, which isn't bad if you think about how much all other games on the market can run for, upwards of $100 if not more for the packaged bundles.

There are three modes you can play on creative, survival, and hardcore mode. I like to play on creative when I play by myself ha ha. When I play with my boyfriend he makes me play on survival mode, booo!! ;)
It's a fairly easy game to play and the controls are pretty simple, I don't want to get into the a bunch of details but there was a point to this post, ha ha. While I was playing tonight my boyfriend decided to use creative mode just so we could spawn some animals by us that we didn't already have, he ended up spawning a cat and some wolves "dogs" and he tamed them. We brought them inside our "house" and I took a screen shot of them because they were so darn cute!

I named him "Mittens" because in real life I actually have a black and white cat named Mittens. I don't have a name for the "dogs" yet though, any suggestions? I just thought they were so adorable that I just had to share him with all my followers! Oh, and Ross taught them how to sit which I thought was even cuter! :)

If you would like to learn more about the game or even download it (it's free :)) you can check out the link below...

Alchemist

Today I noticed a video that a lady linked in her blog and I was just so inspired by it that I wanted to share it with all of you! I don't want to say to much about this man because I would love if you all would watch the video. He's an alchemist, which is like a chemical scientist, and he created his own way of taking photographs. It's amazing! I will put a link to the video below.

http://vimeo.com/39578584

He's been through so many hardships and felt so lost but he found something that truly opened his heart and his eyes to the beauty around him and he followed it. None of you should ever let any hardship or obstacle stop you from pursuing your dreams! Follow your heart and never be afraid of failure. Everybody fails has failed at something but you have to get back up and try, try, and try again. Even if photography isn't an inspiration for you there are so many other inspiring people out there that have been through hardships and have overcame obstacles to get where they are today.

I hope after watching this video you have been inspired to pursue your dreams and never let anything stop you, not even yourself.

Clump Crusher

Hello everybody!! I hope you are all enjoying the snow, if you live in the Midwest, and if not I hope you're enjoying whatever weather you may be in. If it's warm where you are I'm super jealous and wish I could come visit (:

So today I decided I was going to do a  little review type post on Covergirl's Clump Crusher mascara. I don't usually wear any makeup unless I'm going somewhere like to dinner or something but if I do decided to wear makeup on some random day it's usually only mascara. I never knew what kind to get so I ended up going with Maybelline's The Falsies Volum' Express because it was recommended to me by a friend. Well, it's not all I thought it would be. It didn't lengthen or volumize like I thought it would. Since I didn't like that mascara very much I wanted to try something new and found that a lot of people were raving about The Clump Crusher mascara. What the heck, I bought some. I got mine at Wal-Mart for $6.94, not a bad price. It comes in four colors, brown, black brown, black, and very black. I bought mine in very black and it is very black, ha ha! It also comes as waterproof and non waterproof. I prefer to buy mine in non waterproof during the winter because for one I won't be sweating as much so I don't have to worry about it running and for two it's sooooo much easier to take off!!

The next morning I woke up and decided I wanted to try it out, I curled my lashed like normal and when I put it on I was actually amazed and how much it separated my lashes. At first I thought they looked too separated  which seems weird to say,  but after applying some more I really really liked it. It volumized my lashes quite a bit which I love because I don't have very long voluminous lashes. It's very easy to apply and you probably don't need two coats unless you want your lashes to really stand out. Since I don't ever wear anything except mascara I usually want it to stand out.

I really loved the brush on this mascara because it was curved so it was great for getting the little lashes that are close to the inside corner or my eye. It doesn't bring out more mascara then it needed so I don't ever have to scrape any extra off, except sometimes there is a little on the very tip that you can either wipe off or you could hold the wand vertically and scrape the excess onto your lashes and then turn it horizontally and apply the rest as usual, either way is fine! I definitely recommend this mascara and think it's a great buy for anyone! I will post some pictures below of it actually on my lashes so you can get an idea of what I mean by it crazily separates your lashes!

My left eye with the mascara on. If you know me you'll know that this is a significant improvement to the length and volume of my lashes. Plus, there are no real clumps like I've had with almost every other mascara.

Ha ha, sorry for the crazy eyebrows! I'm trimming those up later! :)

I hope you all enjoyed the review and hope this helped you if you were trying to decide on a new mascara or just trying to change up your routine.

Have a happy "clump free" day!

No One

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"
-Eleanor Roosevelt

Very wise words from a very wise woman. I have been bullied many times in my life and I use to let it get under my skin. There were many times in my life where I was going through a hard time and thought there was no way out, but there is. There are people out there that want to help you and want to see you succeed. I am one of those people. Just like the quote above said, no one can make you feel bad unless you let them. Not long ago, last week actually, a girl who was supposed to be my friend got upset with me and started saying very mean and rude things. Calling me names, calling my boyfriend terrible names, saying my teeth annoyed her and I should get braces, the list goes on and on but I simply told her that I've been made fun of before about my teeth and I didn't change for them so why would she think that just because she thought my teeth were annoying I would change for her? I told her that she just feels bad about herself and she is lashing out at me because of it. I have confidence in myself, maybe not a lot but enough that things she said to me weren't getting under my skin like they would have before. I have stopped talking to her even thought she tried to talk to me and be my friend again. I have no room in my life for people that are just going to bring me down and bash me, and neither do you! You're a amazing people and everyone deserves to be happy. Please don't let what other people think of you change the way you feel about yourself. You are all beautiful people, just how God created you, and if other people can't see past the imperfections then that is there problem and they are never going to find anyone but fake friends because everyone has imperfections! It's what makes us all so wonderful!!

Love and believe in yourself

Closer Walk

I've decided to start this blog because I want to have something to look back on as I grow to remember all of the things, big or small, that was happen at that point in my life. I want people to not feel so alone in life and I want them to follow along with me as I go through this journey called Life. There have been many times in my life where I felt like I had no one to turn to, I felt as if all of my friends and even the world just turned their backs on me and I was alone. I never want to feel that way again and I don't want any of you to feel that way either. If you are lonely, depressed, or just want to get something of your chest please do not hesitate to talk to me. I want to make this blog an inviting place for people to come and feel good about themselves but it's also to share with you my life story through the good and the bad and to show you that you are not alone in how you feel, how you think, or how you act.

I will try to post everyday but if I can't it will be every other day. I'm a busy college student so when I'm not doing homework, in class, or just to lazy to get to the computer, ha ha, I will be posting things on here. I will post everything from recipes, pictures, and my outfit of the day to random quotes I find, books I recommend, and just daily posts about my life. If you want to know anything or would like to see a certain kind of post please let me know, I would love to hear from all of you!
